Following on from Value Stream Mapping workshops this very often identifies the need to reduce the amount of stock / inventory held across the Value Steam. In order to move from a “Push” system to a “Pull” or Just in Time system, requires a complete end to end operational system. This becomes a new way of working for each function / department and forms part of the e2e Pull system from the Customer end of the value stream.
At ClarityVM we help clients understand the fundamentals of Kanban and the principles of how to implement a Just in Time supply chain.
By introducing Just in Time systems this helps to reduce overall e2e stock levels and hence has a direct impact to the” Financial bottom line”; this can be measured accordingly from Raw Material to WIP to Finished Goods.
This will begin with a JIT / Kanban overview and will identify the benefits for changing to such a system. The course aims to cover the differences of a “Push” to “Pull” supply chain and link this to the Lean “8 Wastes” and Visual Management workshops (Foundation tools).
We’ll explore how to:
Morning Session: Overview of the System and worked examples.
Afternoon Session: Example of how to adopt to specific area and typical master schedule to implement. Consider the layout and management processes required.
Team members will finish their workshop with an understanding of JIT essentials:
