It’s the middle of December and what a year it’s been here at Clarity Lean and Visual Management! Our team has been busier than ever, as we’ve been helping our clients to improve efficiency, safety and productivity, all while equipping their premises for Industry 4.0 and navigating the challenges posed by ongoing supply chain disruptions and the increasing costs of energy and materials.
To celebrate a year well spent, we’ve rounded up some of our top achievements from 2023 and how they benefit our valued clients.
Though we’re here to support businesses in all kinds of sectors, our factory fit out package has been a particularly popular offering with manufacturing and logistics businesses based all around the UK. From small yet powerful upgrades to comprehensive installations in brand new premises using our 3D approach (discover, design, deliver), we’ve transformed countless industrial settings through fully bespoke Lean and visual solutions.
This year saw us greatly expand and enhance our warehouse safety systems. Our LED projected floor markings are being used for multiple applications, from maximising the safe flow of forklifts and pedestrians to integrating with overhead cranes and roller shutter doors to optimise visual communication. Meanwhile, our versatile safety barriers are helping to prevent injuries as well as safeguard vehicles, fixtures and inventory against damage.
We never stop innovating here at Clarity and the unique requirements of our clients inspire us to develop new and exciting products. It’s your input and suggestions that have led to the launch of numerous visual management assets, including anti-fatigue floor matting, custom workshop fitout solutions, and machine parts storage systems, to name just a few.
This year we also took many of our existing VM products and combined them to create the Clarity visual standard safety wall. This all-encompassing visual management solution can be adapted to suit any working environment and customised to your exact safety requirements. A recent example includes multiple stations integrated into a single wall: first aid, eyewash, AED, fire response, Type D fire response, and incident response.
Earlier this year, we upgraded our internal systems to make enquiries, quotations and orders a much smoother process. Our product range is now larger than ever and you can still design your own magnetic overlays, cleaning stations and shadow boards using our straightforward downloadable templates.
We also have a wide range of brochures available to download, including new additions for visual factory fit outs, safety barriers, LED projections, and products to implement 5S.
Clarity’s Operational Excellence Academy has gone from strength to strength over the last twelve months. Bringing together your team, our experience and the collaborative power of visual communication, these in-depth courses are designed to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is cultivated throughout your organisation.
One employee trained in OpEx can find a daily two-minute improvement. By training fifty members of staff, your organisation can release the potential of 100 minutes per day saved, which can do wonders for production levels and profitability.
As we’re sure you know, safety is at the heart of everything we deliver. That’s why our team worked very hard to secure a prestigious accreditation in the form of SafeContractor approval. In order to attain this, a business must prove that it operates in a safe, responsible and accountable manner, ranging from the strict adherence to all current rules and regulations, to keeping paperwork compliant and putting in place clear processes that optimise health and safety.
We were very proud to receive our certificate from SafeContractor, as it gives our clients additional peace of mind that we can handle projects on any scale.
As visual management specialists, it’s no surprise that we enjoy sharing advice and recommendations in a visual way. That’s why we jumped at the chance to join Solvi Digital for The Assembly Line podcast to discuss industrial sector leadership, industrial marketing, strategies for providing continuous value to your audience, and much more.
We also invested extra focus into creating our own videos that share Lean and visual management tips, including a series on operational excellence. In this trio of digestible videos, our Senior Consultant, Tim Fox, talks about why Value Stream Mapping can fail if the team isn’t capable, whether a business should hire externally or promote from within the team to implement OpEx, and how to connect learning with everyday activities to produce benefits.
We’ve also had a very busy year in terms of developments and promotions within our team. Alana Graham joined us at the start of 2023 as our Sales and Marketing Executive, followed by Allana Hermann taking up the role of Project Manager in April.
In addition, Georgina Warrilow was promoted to Office Team Leader, whilst Kate Wilkinson’s responsibilities were extended to make her our Project and Supply Chain Assistant. We were also delighted to see the return of Jade Clark, who had been on maternity leave since November 2022 and welcomed her adorable son into the world.
We’d also like to once again thank everyone who helped our Managing Director Damian White’s 7-year-old son Jude to raise a whopping £5,000 for the Candlelighters Trust. This crucial charity has been helping children with cancer since 1976, and its team provided invaluable support to Jude and his family when they needed it most.
We have some very exciting announcements in the pipeline but we’d hate to spoil the surprise. Make sure to check our blog regularly and also follow our LinkedIn page for the latest developments at Clarity Lean and Visual Management.
We’ll soon be taking our winter break, with our offices closing from Saturday 23rd December and reopening on Tuesday 2nd January. On behalf of everyone here at Clarity, we wish you a very relaxing festive break and a Happy New Year!
