November is a very important month here at Clarity as it’s when the time finally comes to attend The Manufacturing Management Show at the Ricoh Arena. This was our second year supporting this fantastic, insightful event and we were privileged to host our very own Workshop, “Making Lean Work Through Visual Management“. The Manufacturing Management show was created by the publishers behind Manufacturing Management magazine and is the UK’s only event dedicated specifically to manufacturing management, with everything you need to know about running a successful manufacturing site under one roof. As the leading business providing visual management consultancy and supported by high-quality, specialist Lean products, we had to be there to showcase exactly how organisations can benefit from visual management driving staff engagement, delivering tangible results and, ultimately, making Lean work in their businesses.
Our attendance at the Manufacturing Management Show was focussed specifically on giving attendees the knowledge and inspiration they need to start implementing visual management in their own workplaces; we’ve often found that once people see examples of our work they can quickly picture it in their own businesses. The role of management in manufacturing has never been more complex, with new challenges and opportunities presented on a daily basis. We understand that as a professional working in manufacturing there are constant demands on your time, which is why we wanted to provide everything you could need to kick-start your visual management journey right away; with knowledge, inspiration and insight to take back to your workplace.
Our stand featured some of the most creative and innovative visual management available, this provided the ideal inspiration for visitors who were itching to get back to their sites and get started on their own visual management journeys. We showcased our latest and most innovative visual management boards, including a clever way of using T-Cards to manage the continuous improvement journey and our ever-popular ‘Stores Hazard Board’. We welcomed literally thousands of visitors to our stand and, whats more, we hosted our very own visual management workshop which focussed on ‘Making Lean Work Through Visual Management’; which gave a record audience of over 130 attendees the inspiration, knowledge and tools to truly understand visual management and put its value into more context.
Our workshop asked the fundamental question of, “are you making Lean work in your workplace?”. Time and time again we find that our clients have invested in a Lean programme that is doomed to fail. The team don’t have the support they need, nor is the Lean programme itself set up for success with no buy-in at either a senior leadership or shop-floor level. Our workshop focussed on giving visitors the skills and information to be able to truly maximise their Lean programme to achieve and sustain their goals, secure employee engagement, drive productivity and make financial savings otherwise lost to waste. It’s our belief that visual management is the key to Lean’s success and we shared our experiences of working with many globally recognised companies as well as our ‘8 Practical Tips For Successful Visual Management‘, which you can download yourself for free by clicking this link.
